To determinate calorie and protein requirement for clinical outcome of TPN in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, total 6 charts of patients who admitted in SNUH form jan. 1990 to Aug. 1991 were reviewed reviewed retrospectively over a 3 week period.
We measured each patient¢¥s biochemical and anthropomorphic malnutrition indicators and obtained relationship between calorie, protein amount and each data.
The relationships were Y(protein amount/ Bwt)=31.01¡¿(Hgb variance)-49.50(r=0.66), Y(protein amount/ Bwt)=4.65¡¿(albumin variance)+7.72(r=0.073), Y(%BEE)=42.6¡¿(Bwt variance)-93.3(r=0.95), Y(%BEE)=36.8¡¿(BMI variance)-81.2(r=0.91).
As a results, minimal calorie requirement for autcome malnutrition on body weight, body mass index were 160%BEE.
